Center Street Cemetery Tour

- Saturday 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
The Center Street Cemetery is a very early cemetery and the oldest in Wallingford. It was established around 1670 and is the burial place of more than a few noted figures of local, state and national prominence including Lyman Hall, a signer of the Declaration of Independence; Moses Y Beach, owner of a large newspaper in New York City; and John Moss, one of the English settlers of Wallingford and centenarian in an age of high early mortality. There is much more to learn. Come find out the history of the cemetery, the people buried there, and the history of the stones including their consistency and design through the ages. Come join me on a one-hour tour and experience why Center Street Cemetery was named to the National Register of Historic Places.
